A tragic incident unfolded this morning in East Ham, Newham, as a man lost his life after being struck by a car that failed to stop at the scene.

Upon arrival, officers immediately initiated CPR on the victim, who was a man in his 30s. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service also provided urgent medical attention, but unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe they have identified the victim, and his next of kin have been notified about the tragic incident. A crime scene has been established, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The vehicle involved in the incident reportedly fled the scene without stopping, prompting a search for both the car and its driver by police officers. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

In response to the incident, Barking Road has been temporarily closed eastbound between Boleyn Road and kimberley/">Kimberley Avenue. A detour has been arranged for bus routes 5, 58, 115, and 147.
