Firefighters initially told locals and workers around the Medway City Estate to keep doors and windows closed to avoid the smoke haze. Crews tackled the flames with powerful jets, working hard through the night and into the next day.

By 12:30pm on 25 October, the all-clear was given. Authorities no longer advise people nearby to keep windows and doors shut. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, and the fire’s cause remains under investigation.

At 6:30am, four fire engines and a tanker were still on scene, keeping a close watch as crews worked to fully extinguish the blaze. Emergency teams urged everyone to pass on the safety advice to anyone without internet access.
