Aksana Torkliene, 46, was found dead at her Victoria Street home in Stratford on June 10. The grim discovery has sparked a police investigation and an ongoing inquest.

Emergency Call and Disturbing Scene

Late that afternoon, Aksana’s husband called 999, reporting she wasn’t breathing. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived quickly but sadly confirmed she was already dead.

Drugs and Dark Suspicions

  • Police found Aksana had taken heroin and crack cocaine earlier that day.
  • Evidence suggests she was injected by someone else.
  • Two men, aged 56 and 61, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of manslaughter.

A Met police spokesperson said: “They have since been released on bail as enquiries continue. Officers believe this to be an isolated incident.”

Cause of Death Confirmed as Multi-Drug Toxicity

Coroner Graeme Irvine revealed post-mortem results showed the cause of death was multi-drug toxicity linked to injecting drug use. He noted delays in receiving the report, describing them as “regrettable.”

A full inquest is provisionally set for May next year to uncover more details about Aksana’s tragic death.
