One of two men who absconded from Springfield Hospital in southwest London has been located and detained by police. Ramon Martin, 31, was found in the Clapham Junction area and is being returned to the hospital.
Urgent enquiries continue to locate 20-year-old Adil Maxamed, and officers are warning the public not to approach him. Maxamed remains at large after escaping from the hospital.
Maxamed is a patient at the hospital under the Mental Health Act. At10.35.pm on 19 July, he was seen entering Tooting Bec station and boarding a Northern Line train. Enquiries are ongoing to track his subsequent movements. Maxamed has known links to the Kingston area.
[block_2]The police investigation to locate and detain him is being led by CID officers based in southwest London, with support from specialist colleagues across the Met.
