Public put at risk as Hampshire Fire control room crashes again

A major computer fault has seen the Hampshire Fire and rescue control brought to it knees again we can exclusively reveal. The major fault took the control room off line just after 12.30 on Sunday afternoon. 999calls and mobilisations have had to be handled by neighbors Wilts and Dorset control we have been told by fire sources. The major fault took out a major systems within the control room leaving operator off line and unable to sent fire crews to emergency calls. The system from Capita, which is used by the control room, has crashed five times since it was introduced. The concerns have been raised at previous fire authority meetings but glossed over. Despite improvements since the system was introduced, crashes continue to cause problems. There’s no doubt that the safety of firefighters and the public are being put at risk said the source. We have approached Hampshire fire for statement.
