Six Injured in Serious Catford Crash
Emergency crews raced to a nasty crash in Catford last night after two cars smashed together at Brownhill Road and Torridon Road. Six people were hurt, with five rushed to hospital for treatment.
Chaos at the Scene
The smash happened around 5.30pm on Monday (June 9), triggering a rapid response from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service. Photos show wrecked vehicles trapped behind a police cordon, bringing traffic to a standstill in both directions.
“We were called at 5.31pm to reports of a road collision at Brownhill Road and Torridon Road, SE6. We sent two ambulance crews and an incident response officer. Six patients were treated at the scene and three were taken to hospital,” said a spokesperson for the ambulance service.
In addition to the three taken by ambulance, two others were taken to hospital by police units. One person was checked and released on site.
What Went Wrong? Investigation Ongoing
Police are now examining the crash scene and speaking to witnesses to figure out what caused the collision. No arrests have been made so far.
The road stayed shut for hours, with diversions causing heavy congestion during evening rush hour.
