A murder investigation has been launched after a 52-year-old man died following a stabbing near Ramsgate harbour in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Kent Police was called at around 4.47am on Sunday, 23 August 2026, following reports of a man with a knife in the harbour area.
Officers attending the scene found two men with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
One victim, aged 52, was found in Harbour Street, while a second man, aged 48, was found in Harbour Parade.
Both men were taken to hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, the 52-year-old man was later pronounced dead. His next of kin has been informed.
The 48-year-old victim has since been released from hospital.
21-year-old arrested
A 21-year-old local British man was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody.
Kent Police said officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A murder investigation is now underway as detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
Additional police patrols are being carried out in Ramsgate while enquiries continue.
