Putin Blamed for British Mum’s Death in Novichok Horror

Vladimir Putin has been branded “morally responsible” for the death of Dawn Sturgess, a 44-year-old mother poisoned by the deadly nerve agent Novichok in 2018. A public inquiry revealed the Kremlin chief personally authorised the attack that claimed her life.

Deadly Perfume Bottle Left in Wiltshire

Dawn died after handling a perfume bottle contaminated with Novichok in Amesbury, Wiltshire. The bottle was discarded by Russian agents following their failed hit on former spy Sergei Skripal in nearby Salisbury just months earlier.

“They were acting on instructions. I have concluded the operation must have been authorised at the highest level, by President Putin,” declared Lord Anthony Hughes, chair of the inquiry.

The inquiry slammed the Russian operation as “astonishingly reckless,” highlighting the obvious risk to innocent civilians. Dawn’s partner found the fake perfume bottle and unwittingly gave it to her, leading to her fatal exposure.

Kremlin’s Cold-Blooded Display of State Power

The attack was a chilling show of Russian might, sending a brutal message to the world and Moscow’s enemies at home. It exposed the regime’s ruthless readiness to assassinate opponents anywhere — even on UK soil — with zero concern for collateral damage.

Responsibility runs from the assassin hit squad all the way up to Putin himself, Lord Hughes confirmed.

Doctors Couldn’t Save Dawn Sturgess

Though first responders did not initially realise Novichok was involved, the inquiry found no treatment could have saved Dawn. The nerve agent’s lethal dose she absorbed was tragically fatal, no matter the medical efforts.

Warnings to Public: Too Little, Too Late?

Authorities wrestled with alerting the public without causing panic. Officials warned locals not to pick up suspicious litter but stopped short of full alarm. Lord Hughes admitted the chance of civilians encountering the poison was small — but never zero.

Kremlin Denies All Despite Mounting Proof

Moscow still rejects any involvement, calling accusations politically motivated falsehoods. But forensic evidence and ID of the hit team as GRU spies leave no doubt about Russia’s hand in the deadly attack.

Dawn Sturgess’s family welcomed the inquiry’s damning verdict. While criminal charges against Putin are impossible, the moral responsibility finding is a rare direct rebuke of the Russian leader’s role in this nightmare.

The Human Price of the Kremlin’s Ruthlessness

Dawn’s death is a brutal reminder of the innocent lives destroyed by Russia’s covert chemical warfare. It warns of the deadly dangers unleashed by regimes that wield poison with total disregard for human life.
