Allegations Surface from Years Ago
Back in June 2021, police were alerted to disturbing claims against James Fletcher, going back several years.
After questioning Fletcher, detectives uncovered a disturbing pattern of sexual abuse targeting two people he knew personally.
Fletcher Admits to Rape and Sexual Assault
Fletcher, from Canterbury Close, was arrested and charged with multiple sexual offences. The case proceeded to Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Mid-trial, he dramatically changed his plea, admitting to rape, attempted rape, and two sexual assaults — including one against a child under 13.
Five-Year Prison Sentence Handed Down
On Wednesday, 12 November, Fletcher was sentenced to five years behind bars, plus an extra three years on licence.
Police praised the bravery of the victims for coming forward and helping secure justice.
