Police have launched an urgent investigation after a man was stabbed and racially abused in a violent assault in May Close, Swindon, late on Tuesday night (3 June 2025).
According to Wiltshire Police, the incident occurred between 11:25pm and 11:50pm, when the victim, a man in his 40s, was approached by three suspects on mopeds who demanded his belongings.
When the victim attempted to flee, he was racially abused, chased to the front of his property, and then attacked with a knife. He sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds, was taken to hospital for treatment, and has since been discharged.
Suspects Fled Without Stealing Anything
Despite the violent nature of the incident, the suspects left the scene without taking any items. They are described as:

The case is being handled by Swindon CID, and a police cordon was temporarily in place at the scene to assist with evidence collection. The cordon has since been lifted.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Craig Rathbone, Swindon CID, said:
“We appreciate the community concern this incident will cause and we are treating it incredibly seriously.
There can be no place for this kind of violence in Swindon, and our enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible.”
He added:
“There will be increased police patrols in the area. If you have concerns, please speak to one of our officers.
We believe there were several witnesses—if we haven’t spoken to you yet, please come forward.”
