An 18-year-old man has been charged following a violent machete attack that took place on the Southend seafront last year. The incident, which occurred on July 30, 2024, involved a group of individuals brandishing weapons, causing panic among beachgoers.
Swift Police Response
Officers from Essex Police responded within minutes to reports of people armed with weapons at the seafront. Following the initial disturbance, eight males, including both adults and teenagers aged between 14 and 18, were arrested.
A spokesperson for Essex Police stated:
“Our officers acted swiftly in response to the reports, and several arrests were made at the scene. We take incidents involving weapons extremely seriously and will continue to work diligently to keep the community safe.”
