Bare-Faced Shotgun Attack Near Dudley Road

Kieron Thomas, 27, has been slammed behind bars for 24 years after firing a shotgun at point-blank range in a terrifying attack near a park on Dudley Road, Wolverhampton, on August 27. The victim sustained serious injuries to his body and left arm but, miraculously, managed to reach a nearby home to call for help.

Quick Police Action Nets Armed Suspect

West Midlands Police revealed the shooting stemmed from an earlier fallout involving people linked to Thomas. CCTV played a crucial role, piecing together the gripping chain of events leading up to the assault.

Armed officers swooped on Thomas’s home in Wolverhampton after identifying him as the prime suspect. He tried to escape by scrambling over fences and darting through gardens, but police drones and dog units cornered and captured him.

Weapons and Evidence Recovered

During the search, cops uncovered a balaclava and a glove, each stuffed with a shotgun cartridge. A further 27 cartridges were seized from the property. Thomas, of Elizabeth Avenue, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Justice Served

On Friday, November 21, Thomas was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Firearms officers had provided emergency first aid at the scene before paramedics rushed the victim to hospital, highlighting the quick response that saved a life.
