A woman in her 50s has died following a hit-and-run collision on Brixton Road, near the junction with Handforth Road, SW9, on Tuesday evening. The incident involved a tow truck that failed to stop after striking the pedestrian, followed by a car that also hit her. The driver of the car remained at the scene to assist authorities.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 6:49 p.m. on October 1. Metropolitan Police officers, who courageously acted as human shields to save an injured teenage girl at an illegal rave, have been nominated for a National Police Bravery Award" href="https://uknip.co.uk/news/uk/breaking/three-metropolitan-police-officers-who-courageously-acted-as-human-shields-to-save-an-injured-teenage-girl-at-an-illegal-rave-have-been-nominated-for-a-national-police-bravery-award/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="95374">Officers from the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage or knowledge of the tow truck’s whereabouts to reach out, as they continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident.
