Ashish Sachdev Nahar’s mother, Anita Nahar, released a statement on behalf of the family, expressing their grief and paying tribute to their “cheerful joyful young man.” She emphasized the need for action against knife crime and for increased support for the victim’s family.
Mr. Nahar was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The cause of death was determined to be a single stab wound to the heart. A man in his 20s, who was arrested on Friday, has since been released without further action. Additionally, a 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has been bailed.
Detective Chief Inspector Katie Dounias, leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward and assist the police in bringing those responsible to justice. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact them.
