Ashish Sachdev Nahar’s mother, Anita Nahar, spoke out from the family’s heartbreak. She described her son as a “cheerful, joyful young man” and demanded tougher action on knife crime. Anita also called for better support for families affected by violent crime.
Police Investigation Underway, Appeals for Witnesses
Ashish was rushed to hospital but died shortly after arrival from a single stab wound to the heart. A man in his 20s arrested on Friday has now been released without charges. Meanwhile, a 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has been bailed.
Detective Chief Inspector Katie Dounias, leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward. She said the police are determined to bring those responsible to justice and appealed to witnesses to get in touch.
