A man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow

A man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow. Rizwan Abassi – 31  of Alexandra Road, E17 was charged, on Thursday, 2 April, with the murder of 35-year-old Tomas Macionis. Abassi will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 2 April. This follows an incident in Alexandra Road, E17 on Tuesday, 31 March. Police were called at approximately 10.55pm to reports of a man suffering injuries; he died at the scene. He was formally identified as Tomas Macionis, 35, a Lithuanian national living in Walthamstow. Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command investigate.
