Attempted murder arrest following stabbing in Chatham

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Chatham have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder. Officers were called to the High Street at 5.57pm on Thursday 28 June 2018 and upon arrival found a man with a serious injury consistent with a stab wound. He was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. On Tuesday 3 July a 38-year-old man from Chatham was arrested in the New Road area of the town. He remains in custody as enquiries continue. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating the circumstances and are keen to hear from any witnesses that are yet to contact Kent Police.
