Bent finance manager admits to stealing 60K in Prepaid Credit cards meant for Grenfell Fire Victims
Crooked finance manager Jenny McDonagh for Kensington and Chelsea Council has pleaded Guilty to defrauding around £62,000 from the Grenfell Tower victim fund. The council worker who appeared in custody took cash meant for survivors of the tragedy and victims’ grieving family members using pre-paid credit cards. She spent the funds on luxury holidays and trips aboard and to fund a gambling habit. The 39-year-old, who lives in Willrose Cresent with a property price tag of 500,000 pleaded guilty to two offences of fraud, one of theft and another of concealing criminal property at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. The Grenfell blaze broke out just after 1am on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Police later confirmed 72 people died in the fire. In May 2018, the inquiry began with 72 seconds of silence in tribute to the victims of the disaster who included a stillborn baby. The devastating blaze was described as “the city’s greatest tragedy since World War Two” in a powerful statement by chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick.
