Boy Charged with Possessing Samurai Sword in Walsall

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with possession of a samurai sword in Walsall.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is scheduled to appear at Dudley Magistrates’ Court on February 5 for a first hearing.

The charge relates to the possession of a knife blade in a public place, following an arrest in the Bentley area during the early hours of Thursday morning.

West Midlands Police confirmed the charge as part of its ongoing efforts to combat knife-related offenses, particularly among young people. The force has highlighted Under-25 Serious Youth Violence as a key priority in Walsall.
