Police Arrest Man After 9-Year-Old Boy Grabbed in Brighton

Police are appealing for witnesses following a disturbing incident in which a 9-year-old boy was reportedly followed and grabbed by a man near Dyke Road in Brighton.

The incident occurred at around 8:45am on Thursday, 13 June, close to St Nicholas Rest Garden. It was reported that a man attempted to grab the young boy and then followed him along the road. Fortunately, the child was able to get away safely, and the matter was quickly reported to police.

Arrest Made, Investigation Ongoing

A 39-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and possession of a Class B drug. He has since been released on bail while police continue their enquiries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist the investigation.
