Man Grabs and Follows 9-Year-Old Boy Near Dyke Road
Police are hunting for witnesses after a terrifying incident near Dyke Road where a 9-year-old boy was reportedly followed and grabbed by a man. The drama unfolded around 8:45am on Thursday, June 13, close to St Nicholas Rest Garden.
The young boy managed to escape unharmed, and the worrying episode was swiftly reported to the police. Authorities describe the suspect as a man who attempted to grab the child before trailing him along the road.
Suspect Arrested but Released on Bail
A 39-year-old man from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of common assault and possession of a Class B drug in connection with the case. He has since been released on bail while police continue their investigation.
Police Plea: Witnesses and Footage Needed
Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward. They are especially keen to review any dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist the ongoing inquiry.
