Swindon Man Found Guilty of Rape and Coercive Control

Kane Walker, 21, from Swindon, was today found guilty at Bristol Crown Court of rape, sexual assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour. The jury dismissed his denials after a harrowing trial. Walker, now behind bars, faces sentencing on November 19.

Terrifying Control and Surveillance Unearthed

The victim, a woman in her 20s known to Walker, courageously reported in March how she was repeatedly raped and abused. Walker tracked her every step using a hidden Airtag in her bag and repeatedly activated her live location without consent. He also controlled what she wore and whom she met.

Violent Arson and Intimidation Fail to Silence Victim

While out on bail, Walker tried to bully the victim into dropping charges. In a shocking attack, he set fire to a BMW owned by her family member, adding arson and witness intimidation to his growing list of offences. He was jailed last November for those crimes.

Police Praise Victim’s Unshakable Courage

“I’m deeply proud of the victim’s bravery throughout this ordeal,” said Major Crime Investigator Catherine Baird. “Walker tried to scare her into giving up, but she stood strong. Her courage helped bring him to justice.”“I hope this verdict allows her to heal and move on. She is a true survivor who stood up to this dangerous bully. No woman should endure what she went through. I thank her, the witnesses, and the jury for securing justice.”
