Swindon Man Jailed for Rape and Coercive Control

Kane Walker, 21, from Swindon, has been found guilty of rape, sexual assault, and controlling behaviour at 1 Crown Court. The jury rejected his denials after a tense trial. Walker now faces sentencing on November 19 and is currently behind bars.

Harrowing Control: Hidden Trackers and Surveillance

The victim, a woman in her 20s known to Walker, bravely came forward in March detailing a nightmare of repeated rape and abuse. Walker installed a hidden Airtag in her bag to track her every move and repeatedly activated her live location without permission. He dictated what she wore and who she could meet, exerting terrifying control.

Arson and Intimidation Fail to Silence Victim

While on bail, Walker attempted to bully the victim into dropping charges. In a shocking act of intimidation, he set fire to a BMW owned by her family member, adding arson and witness intimidation to his criminal record. He was jailed last November for those offences.

Police Praise Victim’s Heroic Stand

“I’m deeply proud of the victim’s bravery throughout this ordeal,” said Major Crime Investigator Catherine Baird. “Walker tried to scare her into giving up, but she stood strong. Her courage helped bring him to justice.”

“I hope this verdict allows her to heal and move on. She is a true survivor who stood up to this dangerous bully. No woman should endure what she went through. I thank her, the witnesses, and the jury for securing justice.”
