A driver was lucky to escape serious injury after a crash in Welwyn Garden City, but is now facing prosecution after failing a roadside breath test, according to local police.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, did not result in injuries to other road users or pedestrians, but police have reiterated the dangers of drink driving — a decision that can have devastating consequences.

In a post shared with the public, Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed:
“Fortunately, no one else was harmed in this incident, and the driver sustained only minor injuries. However, they failed a roadside breath test and will now face legal proceedings.”
Public Safety Reminder
The crash has renewed calls for drivers to avoid the Fatal Five — the five most common causes of death and serious injury on the roads, including drink driving, speeding, careless driving, seatbelt neglect, and mobile phone use.
