Dangerous Driver Jailed for 12 Years After High-Speed M2 Fatal Crash
Deadly Crash on M2 Near Faversham
A reckless driver who sped at over 120mph on the M2 motorway has been locked up for causing a fatal smash near Faversham. Sensenal Amaglo, 42, was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, 12 May 2025, after admitting causing death by dangerous driving.
On 27 November 2022, Amaglo’s Mercedes C-Class slammed into another vehicle between junctions 6 and 5 on the London-bound carriageway. The impact instantly killed the female driver, a woman in her 50s. The chilling incident was captured on Amaglo’s own dashcam.
Emergency Response and Investigation
- Emergency services raced to the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead at the roadside.
- Amaglo was found still in his car and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
- Kent Police’s serious collision unit led a complex probe that eventually pressed formal charges.
- Though Amaglo initially denied responsibility, he changed his plea before sentencing.
Harsh Sentence and Driving Ban
The court imposed a harsh punishment: Amaglo must serve a minimum of eight years and two months before parole eligibility. He will remain behind bars for a total of 12 years and three months.
On top of jail time, Amaglo faces a 10-year driving ban once released. A related charge of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs will stay on file.
Detective’s Warning: ‘Tragic Consequences of Appalling Driving’
“Amaglo’s driving that morning was truly appalling and resulted in the most tragic of consequences. I hope the custodial sentence offers him time to reflect on his thoughtless and grossly irresponsible actions,” said Detective Constable Sara Capozzi, who led the investigation.
“I would like to thank the witnesses whose evidence helped secure this conviction and ensure this dangerous driver was put behind bars for several years.”
