A 45-year-old man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman aboard an EasyJet flight from Naples to Edinburgh.
Nicola Cristiano Found Guilty of Attempted Rape
Nicola Cristiano was convicted on Friday, 9 January 2026, following a High Court trial in Edinburgh. The vile incident took place on 13 May 2025, when Cristiano moved seats mid-flight to sit next to the victim.
Cabin Crew Alerted, Perp Arrested on Arrival
After Cristiano shifted to another part of the plane, the woman immediately informed the cabin crew about the attack. Police arrested Cristiano as soon as the flight landed at Edinburgh Airport. Sentencing is set for a later date.
