A 45-year-old man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman aboard an EasyJet flight from Naples to Edinburgh.
Nicola Cristiano Convicted of Attempted Rape
Nicola Cristiano was found guilty on Friday, 9 January 2026, after a High Court trial in Edinburgh. The shocking attack happened mid-flight on 13 May 2025, when Cristiano moved seats to sit next to the victim.
Crew Act Fast, Perp Arrested on Touchdown
The victim immediately told cabin crew after Cristiano shifted seats. Police were waiting and arrested him as soon as the plane landed at Edinburgh Airport.
Sentencing Date to Be Announced
Judges will hand down Cristiano’s sentence at a later hearing.
