Gravesend man charged with murder

Detectives investigating a murder in Gravesend have charged a man. An investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate was launched into the death of a 31-year-old man after he was found with head and stomach injuries in St Patrick’s Gardens, Gravesend, at around 8pm on Saturday 21 July 2018. The victim, who was from the Cranbrook area, was taken to a London Hospital for treatment but died on the morning of Sunday 22 July. Formal identification of the victim has not yet taken place. The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised a charge of murder against Joe Chuter, of Taunton Vale in Gravesend. The 28-year-old man currently remains in custody and is due to appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 July.
