A man has been charged with the murder of Marc Allen, who died four years ago in Erith

A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of 51-year-old Marc Allen, who was allegedly mowed down by his own car in an attempted theft.

On Thursday (June 20), Errol Woodger, 37, of mottisfont/" title="Mottisfont" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="27644">Mottisfont Road, Abbey Wood, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court accused of Marc’s murder and the robbery of his vehicle.

Woodger spoke only to confirm his identity during the court appearance. District Judge Sarah Turnock remanded him into custody and adjourned the case to the Old Bailey for a hearing on Monday.

Woodger also faces charges related to driving an e-scooter while disqualified and without insurance in Plumstead, southeast London, on June 18.

Marc Allen was taken to King’s College Hospital in south London after being struck by his car, where he was placed in a coma. He died a month later on January 29, 2020.

Additional Charges

In addition to the murder and robbery charges, Woodger was charged with three other offences regarding the operation of an e-scooter. The judge has scheduled a hearing for these offences at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
