Man charged with attempted murder

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Faversham have charged a man. Kent Police was called at 4.26am on 16 March 2019 following the incident in Larksfield Road. A man in his 40s suffered head injuries and was taken to a London hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. Officers attended the scene and following a number of enquiries, Lewis Shaw was arrested on 23 March. The 27-year-old of Essella Road, Ashford was subsequently charged with attempted murder, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in public place, possession of a bladed article in a public place, criminal damage and a public order offence. He appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on 25 March where he was remanded in custody to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 23 April. ENDS
