Man Charged with Manslaughter Over Elderly Man’s Death in Wakefield
Hamza Shafique, 27, has been charged with manslaughter following the death of 72-year-old Stephen Jedynak in Wakefield. Shafique, from Maidstone Street, Bradford, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday).
Victim Found Unresponsive at Home
Stephen Jedynak was found unresponsive at his Crofton home and died in hospital on 27 December, three days after being discovered. The tragic case triggered a fast-moving police investigation.
Three Others Released on Bail
Police arrested three other men aged 23, 26, and 32 linked to the incident. All have now been released on bail as inquiries continue.
