Man Sentenced to Jail for Stabbing in Thanet Altercation

Craig Judd has been sentenced to a jail term after a violent dispute in Thanet left a man with multiple stab wounds.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Fulham Avenue, Garlinge, where emergency services responded to reports of a man suffering from stab wounds. The victim was swiftly transported to a London hospital for urgent medical attention.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that Craig Judd had been involved in the altercation, during which he himself sustained an eye injury. Witnesses recounted seeing Judd shouting before brandishing a knife and attacking the victim. Shockingly, witnesses also reported that Judd dissuaded members of the public from rendering aid to the injured man.

Judd was subsequently apprehended and charged with attempted murder. In November 2023, he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article at Canterbury Crown Court.

Appearing before the same court on Friday, March 1, 2024, the 25-year-old resident of Fulham Road, Garlinge, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.

Detective Sergeant Alper Ay, from East Kent CID, emphasized the seriousness with which Kent Police addresses knife-related crimes, stating, “Tackling knife crime is a priority for Kent Police, and we take a zero-tolerance approach to carrying knives and weapons at all times.

He added, “Judd was quickly identified, arrested, and charged for this horrific attack, and I hope the fact that he is now in prison provides some reassurance to the local community.

The sentencing of Craig Judd underscores the commitment of law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of communities by holding perpetrators of violent crimes accountable for their actions.
