Margate Man Arrested in Connection with Cambridgeshire Teenager’s Death

A 28-year-old man from Margate has been arrested as part of a murder investigation following the death of 19-year-old Ben Procter in Peterborough. This brings the total number of arrests to five as detectives continue their inquiries into the suspected killing.

Police were called to a car park on Wellington Street, Peterborough, late on Sunday, September 15, where they found Procter unconscious. Despite efforts to save him, he died in the early hours of the following day.

Last week, 33-year-old Ako Mohammad, of Lincoln Road, Peterborough, was charged with murder and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on September 18. A post-mortem examination was carried out on Procter, but the results were inconclusive, and further tests are pending.

On Sunday, September 22, four additional arrests were made. A 23-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of murder and possessing a bladed article in a public place. The other three men, including the Margate resident, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four are currently being held in custody in Staffordshire.

The investigation is ongoing, and Cambridgeshire Police continue to urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
