Life-Behind-Bars Killer Charged with Attacking Prison Officers
A Moroccan asylum seeker already locked up for life for murder has now been hit with attempted murder charges after two violent outbreaks at top-security jails, police reveal.
Double Trouble at High-Security Prisons
Ahmed Ali Alid, 47, faces attempted murder, assault causing actual bodily harm, and offensive weapon possession charges. The offences took place at HMP Full Sutton on 8 August last year and again at HMP Wakefield roughly two months later.
Convicted Killer Back in Court
Alid was convicted in October 2024 for the brutal murder of 70-year-old Terence Carney in a street attack. He is currently serving a life sentence for that crime.
He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow to face the fresh charges.
