Life-Behind-Bars Murderer Slapped with Attempted Murder Charges After Prison Rampages
A Moroccan asylum seeker already serving life for murder has been hit with new attempted murder charges following violent attacks on prison officers at two top-security jails, police reveal.
Violence Strikes Twice at High-Security Prisons
Ahmed Ali Alid, 47, now faces charges of attempted murder, assault causing actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. The assaults took place first at HMP Full Sutton on 8 August last year and again two months later at HMP Wakefield.
Convicted Killer Set to Face New Court Battle
Alid was convicted in October 2024 for the savage murder of 70-year-old Terence Carney in a brutal street attack. He is currently locked up for life for that crime.
The convicted killer is due in Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow to answer the fresh charges.
