It is reported that a woman was raped by a man she knows in the town’s New Town Green area between 1am and 4am on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
As part of the investigation, an 18-year-old man was arrested and released on bail.
Officers would like to speak with anyone who has information about the incident as part of their investigation.
They are particularly interested in speaking with two men seen in Newtown Road around that time, who are suspected of giving the victim a coat.
