Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Chessington have charged a man with murder.
Keith Bettison, 71 of Raynard Close, Chessington will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 November.
Police were called at 1.18am on Saturday, 31 October to concerns for the welfare of a woman at a residential address in Raynard Close.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A 48-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are leading the investigation.
