Second Man Charged In Walthamstow Shooting Incident Leaving Victim Seriously Injured

Greater Manchester Police have launched an appeal for information following a report of a severe assault that occurred in the vicinity of Ashton Road, Oldham, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at approximately 21.30 BST

According to authorities, a 45-year-old man became the victim of a violent assault after being taken away in a Grey Audi from Ashton Road, near the junction with Kent Street. Subsequently, the injured man was returned to his home address with significant injuries.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment and remains in critical condition as a result of the attack.

In connection with the incident, a 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of a Section 18 assault. She has since been released on bail pending further investigation.

Detectives leading the case are now appealing to potential witnesses who were in the vicinity of Ashton Road, near Kent Street in Hathershaw, Oldham, and may possess CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage related to the incident.

Detective Inspector Victoria Wade from Oldham’s CID stated, “We are keen to gather as much information as we can that will help us with our investigation. We believe this to be a targeted attack, and we are keen to ensure that the local community are reassured that we are doing everything to bring the right person to justice.
