Ryde man jailed for possessing a Pedophile grooming manual
A man from Ryde has been jailed by an Isle of Wight judge for 12 months to possessing a Pedophile grooming manual before the Isle of Wight Crown Court sitting in Newport today. Jamie Downing, 27, who lives in Oakvale Road, Ryde, admitted possessing the manual along with six other charges when he appeared before the presiding judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Monday, January 7). The court heard that the manual had been downloaded after being shared in a grooming forum and had been in Downing’s possession for over two years. In passing Sentence, Judge Roger Hetherington said: “The worst offence of these, which takes this case to levels of depravity that this court seldom sees, is that of the manual, which gives detailed advice on the abuse of very young children, including babies.
