Officers investigating charity box thefts in Dover charge man A man has been charged with stealing charity collection boxes from a number of businesses in Dover. Jack Goddard, 22, of Elliot Way in Sholden, Deal, is accused of taking donations intended for eight charitable organisations and local good causes from the following Dover locations: The White Horse Inn, St James Street on 10 September The Three Cups Public House, Crabble Hill on 8 September Dover Marina Hotel, Waterloo Crescent on 5 September The Dewdrop Public House, Tower Hamlets Street on 5 September The Old Endeavour Public House, London Road on 4 September Dover Marina Hotel in Waterloo Crescent on 2 September The Park Inn, Park Place on 2 September Dover Sea Angling Club in Priory Road on 28 August In addition, Mr Goddard has been charged with four other thefts where goods were reported stolen from Asda in Charlton Green and Boots in Biggin Street between 1 August and 2 September 2018. Mr Goddard has been remanded in custody and will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 September faced with all 12 charges.
