TV Legend Joins Police in Real-Life Arrest
A 29-year-old shoplifter is now behind bars after Southampton Police got an unexpected assist from none other than TV icon Jeff Stewart, famous for playing PC Reg Hollis on The Bill for 24 years.
Caught on Camera – And the Public Loves It
The dramatic moment when Jeff Stewart helped officers nab Mohamed Diallo was filmed on police body cam and quickly became a viral hit nationwide.
Sentenced for Seven Shoplifting Offences
Diallo, from Anglesea Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to seven counts of shoplifting. Judgement came swift and sure at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 October, where he was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.
Though Reg Hollis has long left Sun Hill station behind, it turns out the legendary copper still has what it takes. Cheers for the backup, Reggie Babe!
