Three Shocking Sexual Assault Claims Shake Southampton

Sohail Amiri, 30, from Highfield Lane, Southampton, faces serious sexual assault allegations from three women across the city. The latest accusation came from an incident on Upper Shaftesbury Avenue, where Amiri allegedly tried to force a kiss on a woman in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police say this follows two earlier attacks reported on 23 September in Westwood Road. Although details remain under wraps, the victims were separately approached by Amiri in those cases.

Woman Fights Off Midnight Attacker

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed: “A woman walking along Upper Shaftesbury Avenue just after midnight was confronted by Amiri, who attempted to kiss her. Thankfully, she forced him off and escaped.”

Authorities have now linked all three sexual assault claims to Amiri, who faces multiple charges.

Illegal UK Entry Charge Added

Amiri isn’t just in trouble over assault claims. He’s also been slapped with an illegal entry charge under Section 24 of the Immigration Act 1971. This means he could be prosecuted for entering the UK unlawfully, adding to his legal woes.

Highfield Lane Hotel Protests Fuel Local Tensions

Amiri’s home address is the same street as Highfield House Hotel in Portswood, which has faced protests over housing asylum seekers and migrants. While the hotel protests have stirred tensions locally, there’s no confirmed link between Amiri and the hotel.

Next Stop: Southampton Magistrates’ Court

Amiri is set to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court soon to face all charges. No hearing date has been announced yet. Magistrates will determine how the case moves forward.
