Swale investigators are intensifying efforts to combat shop theft after multiple reports of stolen items from various stores in Sheerness. kent-police/" title="Kent Police" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="9837">Kent Police received reports between Thursday, February 15, and Sunday, April 28, 2024, detailing thefts of items such as alcohol, meat, washing products, and cosmetics from seven different stores located in the High Street, Bridge Road, and Millenium Way. The total value of the stolen property exceeded £2,400.
On Sunday, April 28, an off-duty Met Police Officer Charged with Assault Following Wrongful Arrest in Croydon" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="9839">Metropolitan Police officer reported a suspicious incident in Sheerness town centre to local constables patrolling the area. Acting on this information, the constables promptly apprehended a man, later identified as Sean Mannough of Jefferson Road, Sheerness.
