Sheerness Shoplifting Spree Sparks Police Crackdown

Swale investigators have launched a full-scale blitz on shoplifters after a string of thefts hit Sheerness stores. Between February 15 and April 28, Kent Police logged multiple reports of stolen goods worth over £2,400. The targeted shops span High Street, Bridge Road, and Millennium Way.

Thieves have been swiping everything from alcohol and meat to washing products and cosmetics across seven different stores. The raid has left local businesses on edge, prompting an urgent response from authorities.

Off-Duty Met Officer Sparks Arrest

On April 28, an off-duty Metropolitan Police officer spotted suspicious activity in Sheerness town centre. His tip-off led local constables straight to the culprit. Officers quickly apprehended Sean Mannough of Jefferson Road, Sheerness.

Mannough was processed the next day, April 29, as the investigation continues.
