Electricity has been cut to 2,190 properties as firefighters tackle a major blaze at an industrial estate in Rowfant, West Sussex.
The fire broke out at Caldyne Park, Rowfant Business Centre, on Wallage Lane, prompting a significant response from West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
Eight fire engines and two water carriers are at the scene as crews work to bring the blaze under control.
UK Power Networks has confirmed that electricity supplies have been switched off to properties in the RH10 4PD area as an emergency safety precaution.
Residents received no advance warning because of the emergency nature of the shutdown.
Anyone whose electricity remains on is understood not to be affected by the precautionary isolation.
UK Power Networks says that during major incidents some supplies can be restored remotely, while others require engineers to attend and assess equipment before electricity can safely be switched back on.

The precaution comes as firefighters deal with smoke from the blaze and work to prevent the fire from spreading.
There is currently no confirmed timescale for when power will be restored to the affected properties.
