Two Class A drug dealers who supplied cocaine wholesale in Swindon jailed |
| Two Class A drug dealers who supplied cocaine wholesale for local dealers across Swindon have been jailed.
An investigation by our Swindon Local Police Tasking Team (LPTT) found that Jake Stevens, 23, and Tyrone Richards, 25, were third-tier drug suppliers in Swindon, facilitating the function of larger scale drug supply across the town. On Friday (13/02) at Swindon Crown Court, Stevens and Richards were jailed for seven years four months and six years respectively. Our investigation started with the arrest of Oskar Krzeszewski in April last year, who has since been jailed for running a crack cocaine and heroin drug line in the Swindon area. Our enquiries revealed that he was obtaining his cocaine from another dealer, who has been charged with Class A drugs offences and remanded to prison. Evidence obtained from this dealer’s phone revealed he was being supplied by Richards and Stevens – who were jointly running the drug line. On June 26 last year, we executed warrants at their addresses with the support of the Met’s Op Orochi team. At Stevens’ address in Wroughton, we found more than £7,000 in cash under the bed, as well as the phone, packaging consistent with a kilo block of cocaine, forensic gloves, and numerous other high value items. At Richards’ address in East Wichel, large quantities of cocaine and cannabis were found, as well as £2,355 in cash, drug paraphernalia, an illegal EKOL top-venting handgun, and a zombie knife. A lock-up unit controlled by Stevens was also searched, where we found numerous items of high value clothing, plus a further large quantity of cocaine, in bulk form. They were subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property. Richards was also charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. They pleaded guilty to all offences and have now been sentenced to several years behind bars. A Proceeds of Crime Act hearing is due to take place in July. Investigating officer DC Saunders said: “Stevens and Richards were high tier dealers, operating upstream and supplying tens of thousands of pounds worth of Class A drugs to be distributed across Swindon. “They had an established network in which they were removed from the lower levels of the hierarchy, letting other people take more of the risk while they retained much of the profits. “Through our investigation into various levels of this network however, Richards and Stevens were identified and caught with significant amounts of cash and drugs. “This outcome should act as a strong deterrent to anyone involved in drug supply, not just those at a street level, and a reminder that that we will continue to take decisive action to dismantle criminal drug networks. “Information to tackle these kinds of offences is absolutely vital. You can help us by reporting any drug-related activity to us via 101 or through our website.” |
