Three men have been arrested following the discovery of a suspected chop shop in Yalding, after a Kent Police drone located a stolen Mercedes-Benz hidden from public view.
The suspects, aged 26, 38, and 52, are all from London. They have since been released on bail while investigations continue.
Ongoing Investigation
Police say enquiries are ongoing to determine the full extent of the operation. A spokesperson for Kent Police praised the rapid drone deployment, saying:
“The use of drone technology in this case was vital to locating the stolen vehicle quickly and safely. This is an excellent example of how modern tools can aid traditional policing to disrupt criminal activity.”
Anyone with information about the suspected chop shop or vehicle thefts in the area is urged to contact Kent Police on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
