Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a fatal collision in Buckhurst Hill on Christmas Eve, as police continue to investigate and appeal for information.
The Incident
Emergency services were called to Palmerston Road shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a grey Jaguar XJ. Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road remained closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Arrests Made
On Monday, December 30, Essex Police arrested three individuals in connection with the incident:
A 20-year-old man from Loughton
A 17-year-old boy from Dagenham
A 16-year-old boy from Chingford
They have been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.
The 20-year-old man has been released on bail until March 13, while the two teenagers have been bailed until March 14.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Sergeant Sam Nason, leading the investigation, said:
*”My thoughts continue to be with the family of the woman who died in this incident, and they are being supported by specialist officers.
“We are continuing to appeal for information about the collision and what led up to it. In particular, I need anyone who saw or has footage of a grey Jaguar XJ around the time of the collision in Buckhurst Hill and Chingford.”*
