Three men have been arrested nearly a year after a nine-year-old girl was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting in Dalston, East London.
Arrests Made
The suspects—aged 36, 35, and 28—were taken into custody in the early hours of Tuesday, February 25, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They have since been released on bail pending further investigation.
Background on the Shooting
The horrific gun attack took place at 9:20 pm on May 29, 2024, near the Evin Turkish restaurant on Kingsland High Street.
The gunman, riding a Ducati Monster motorcycle, opened fire on the busy street, seriously injuring the nine-year-old girl. Three men also sustained injuries in the attack.
Life-Changing Injuries
The Metropolitan Police previously stated that the young girl may never be able to speak or move again due to the severity of her injuries.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway, who is leading the investigation, urged the public to come forward:
“A little girl’s life was traumatically changed on the evening of Wednesday, 29 May. The dangerous individual responsible for those life-changing injuries remains on our streets, and people out there know who pulled the trigger.”
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have information about:
- The identity of the shooter seen on the motorcycle.
- Sightings of a Ducati Monster model motorcycle in the area.
How to Provide Information
DCI Dalloway reassured witnesses that they can report anonymously if they are afraid to speak to police directly.
