Two People Have Been Sentenced Following A Drugs Investigation Into The Supply Of Class B Drugs

Mitchell Hicks, 30, of Bladen Close, Wroughton, was sentenced to two years and 11 months after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply and concerned in the supply of cannabis and acquire/use/possess criminal property, and Chloe Dempster, 33, of the same address, was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months after pleading guilty to acquire/use/possess criminal property and allowing premises to be used for the supply of a class B drug. On February 4, 2021, a warrant was executed at the pair’s address following intelligence regarding the supply of class B drugs. During the warrant, over half a kilo of cannabis was seized, prepared in various street deals for supply, as well as drug paraphernalia, cash and several mobile phones. Both were arrested. PC Caldwell said: “Hicks and his partner Dempster were storing large amounts of cannabis at their address and not only receiving cash payments but also a large amount of third party payments through illegal means. “They were well-established drug dealers supplying class B drugs on the streets of Swindon. Illegal drugs have a detrimental effect on not just those buying and using the drugs, but also on the local community. “Both Hicks and Dempster have been reaping the financial rewards whilst making no contribution themselves to society. I am pleased that our investigation has led to them being put before the courts for their actions.”
